Áine Kenneally - Play Therapist
Áine is a qualified Play Therapist, with a very warm, compassionate, and empathetic nature. Áine applies a person-centred approach and integrates various models and theoretical approach which she tailors specifically to meet the clients’ individual needs and issues.
Áine provides a safe and secure therapeutic space in which her client can explore their internal state in a collaborative dual relationship with her, to promote recovery and healing on all levels, emotional, physical, mental, spiritual, in treating both acute and chronic life challenges.
Prior to embarking on a career as a play therapist, Áine has worked as an Early Education Educator and manager in both community and private childcare settings. Áine has more than 7 years’ experience working with children and adolescents with additional needs. Áine has worked extensively with children with autism, intellectual and physical disabilities, mental health issues and behavioural issues.
Having the required qualifications with working with children, Áine can adapt a compassionate and intuitive approach to working with children with a variety of needs.
Áine is passionate about improving the lives of children.
She has a postgraduate certificate and diploma from NUI Galway in practice-based play therapy and is a registered therapist with Play Therapy Ireland. Áine Is fully insured, first-aid compliant and has Garda vetting.
Áine also provides Play Therapy services in Teac Tom in Kilkenny which is an organisation that provides support individuals and their families affected by suicide, or contemplating suicide.
